  New Life Ladies Football

We have a New Life Ladies Football Team in our church on our way to a championship season this year. We are always looking for ways to bring in new talent and grow in fellowship.

If you are interested in trying out for the team, contact Scott Kwak at : scott@higherexposure.com

NEW LIFE LADIES FOOTBALL HISTORY

2004 - November
Scott Kwak, the former coach of the late champions, the KCPC ladies football team hoped to start an expansion team at New Life. To his dismay, there were not enough girls to form a team for that year's Turkey Bowl tournament. Determined, Coach Scott directed his energy to forming the expansion team by the Spring of 2005.

2005 - Spring
Talks of a team formation began in the congregation of New Life. Rumor had it that there were enough girls to form a team. The projected test run for the team was set for Summer of 2005. The anticipation excited the darling lady spirits of our church.

2005 - July
In a pick up game during a picnic hosted by New Life, we witnessed the defeat of our male members in the hands of the ladies. Within that group were the budding talent that will later be named the stars of New Life Football. The future was looking bright.

2005 - August
Under the newly acquired leadership of Minah Chang as our QB, we had a rough task of surrounding her with the right group of talent to complement our fierce attack. The first signings included a veteran group consisting of Patty Hong and Helen Son formerly of NCFC in an effort to bolster our defense, Pansy Lee from Virginia Tech to shutdown any arsenal headed our way, Mailan Aram formerly of KCPC to solidify our ground attack that was crucial in the KCPC championship run of 2003 and Linda Kye aka "Lindell" with a championship attitude that would make our team invincible on air.

2005 - September
Coach Scott was increasingly worried about the line. He knew how crucial it was for a team to have a solid line for any offense to work. Much prayer and a miracle was needed to find what he was looking for. After a few days, a miracle occurred with the addition of Teresa Chang to center the soon to be dominant line. Next, the addition of Suzanne Kang anchored the team with her vigilant bulldozing and relentless driving skills. Finally, the addition of Jee Kim at tight end finalized the dream team of a line that was highly sought after.

2005 - October
Much to our surprise, we allowed JMU girls to join our team. Hesitant at first due to the storied team JMU has had over the years, we weren't sure how to take these ladies who chose our program as opposed to theirs. Quynh Nguyen and Lois Kwon proved to be more than we bargained for. In fact, we believe them to be the best talent produced by the JMU system in years. We were very glad to have them in our tandem.

2005 - November
The last additions were the finalization of having Priscilla Park and Stephanie Liptak to man our defensive line. Our team was complete with these last additions. Practices were coming together and we were on our way to become a true contender in the Turkey Bowl Championship Series.
